A Look Back
I hate to miss a beat in the weekly species studies, but sometimes other parts of life overtake one's writing practice. So the final piece of my cucurbits trio, on Watermelons, will have to wait a few more days.
In the meantime, I was able to import the Otherwise archive into DFOS and do some cleanup in the space. So, from another perspective, this week includes 9+ posts instead of just one!
Here is an overview of the imported archive.
Lectio Terra (can also be explored on the Calendar)
I started my weekly species studies in late February of this year, approximately 10 weeks after the winter solstice. This means that I'm right around the halfway point of my year-long project. The lunar/solar notes for each post got slightly skewed after importing and arranging; eventually, I hope to refine things into a recurring annual cycle, adjusted for subsequent years. Methodology TBD.

Laurentia Kitchen (circa 2022-2025)
This was my intermittent scrapbook/zine related to food, cooking, and bioregional thinking. It transformed from a few typical recipes and food blogging posts into a more experimental, textual endeavor. A few highlights from later in the project include:
- "A violent particularity of exclusivity"
- Which kind of avant-garde are you?
- 5 Food Trends for the New Year
- “I’m curious about the foodways of other regions”
- Food, Statistics*: A Collation
